Ed Damber was born in June of 1935 and grew up on a farm. There were horses, chickens, and cows that needed to be taken care of and a garden that needed tending. Ed says that his dad taught him to take pride in being a hard worker on their farm.
He has lived in Allegan all of his life and he attended high school here, quitting in the 11th grade. He later signed up for the army and went to boot camp. Ed’s wife was a neighbor from the past and they raised 2 boys and 2 girls. He worked as a mechanic in a garage for a few years and would later go out on his own.
Ed is an avid outdoorsman and remembers his dad taking him fishing. He now takes pride in raising his lime tree that he has in his room, and likes to talk about the good old days.
