Why make a donation?

Allegan County Medical Care Community is a not-for-profit government agency. As such, we are required to accept anyone needing our services, regardless of their ability to pay.

  • Medicaid and Medicare have cut their reimbursements by as much as 20%

  • Private pay along with insurance, Medicaid and Medicare are typically 7% less than needed to maintain the costs of care

  • By making a donation, you are allowing ACMCC to continue the quality service that we are known for.

Memorials and Honor Gifts

Losing a loved one can be hard. Remembering someone special can be healing and very affirming for family, friends and loved ones. A memorial donation can be a powerful expression of giving while also remembering someone who has touched our lives. Honor gifts may be in recognition of a birthday,  anniversary, or another important occasion.  If you’d like to help ACMCC through “Memorial and Honor Gifts”,  contact Sharice Purman, Development Director via e-mail or call (269) 686-4607.

LEGACY GIFTS
Making a Bequest Through Your Will

When you remember Allegan County Medical Care Community in your will, you may reduce your estate taxes while supporting your community. You may give a specific dollar amount or a percentage of your estate. You may also give a remainder of your estate after bequests to friends and family.

Charitable IRA Rollover

Many retirees do not itemize their deductions on their tax returns (i.e. take the standard deduction). Donors who don’t itemize their deductions under the current law and who are over 70 1/2 may find a charitable IRA rollover very advantageous. Many retirees have been particularly motivated to apply their charitable IRA gifts to satisfy their mandatory minimum distribution.

Charitable Gift Annuities

Charitable gift annuities offer two key benefits: simplicity and a reliable income. When you establish a charitable gift annuity, Allegan County Medical Care Community will work with you, your estate adviser, and the Allegan County Community Foundation to enable you or someone you designate to receive a life income in exchange for your charitable gift. The annuity rate depends on the annuitant’s age. The older you are, the high the rate.

Allegan County Medical Care Community Endowment Fund

The Allegan County Medical Care Community Endowment Fund is held by the Allegan County Community Foundation and will provide for the work of the Community in perpetuity. The gifts (principal) to the fund are never spent, only the investment growth is distributed. Your generous gift will support the Community for many generations to come.

Henry & Bette Boerman Endowment Fund

The Henry and Bette Boerman Endowment Fund is designed for physical plant needs, will provide for the erection, improvement and/or repairs of the buildings housing the Allegan County Medical Care Community. The gifts (principal) to the fund are never spent, only the investment growth is distributed.

Should you want to contribute to one of our Endowment Funds, please make checks payable to the Allegan County Community Foundation.
